Apply For Louisiana Cosmetology License
Must be at least 16 years of age and must have completed 10th grade at an approved high school. You must also have completed required hours in an approved cosmetology school curriculum. Also you must pass state board examinations and pay fees.

Louisiana Cosmetology License Renewal
Louisiana cosmetology licenses need to be renewed every year by the licensee's birthday. The cost to renew your license in state is $25, $50 for out of state. At this time there is no continuing education hours required to renew your cosmetology license in Louisiana but highly recommended to stay current in this industry.
Louisiana Cosmetology License Reciprocity
Louisiana state board of cosmetology does not have reciprocity with Texas, Kansas, Hawaii, Florida, Colorado, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Vermont, Tennessee, New York, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts or Maryland. Out of state transfer applicants will need to take a NIC Exam for $25, a State Theory Exam for $25 and a practical exam for $25. They will then need to pay the reciprocity license fee of which is $50.
