Arizona Cosmetology License Reciprocity (Change or Transfer)
If you are coming from another state, licensure in Arizona may be done through their license for license reciprocity program or by taking the Arizona Board Exam. This process requires an application to be filled out for reciprocity and an explanation of licensure requirements. The Arizona Board Of Cosmetology states that a person is entitled to receive a cosmetologist, nail technician or aesthetician license if the following is met:
1. You pay the required fees.
2. You submit an application to the board for cosmetologist, esthetician or nail tech license.
3. You submit evidence that you are licensed in another state or country, OR you graduated from a school that offers cosmetology, esthetics or nail technology courses substantially similar to Arizona's requirements and that you passed the board approved cosmetology exams.
There are situations where there are other requirements, in this case we suggest you contact the Arizona State Board Of Cosmetology to verify the requirements to change or transfer your cosmetology license (reciprocity).
